Story Title: Beyond the Stars
First day of school and Lynn already felt like she was going to die. She hated the fact all summer that she had to go to a the biggest high school as a freshman. She slipped inside the classroom slid into an empty seat and sat her backpack down beside her.
The teacher rambled on and on about things that she took note of in the back of her mind. She just wanted to go home and pretend she didn’t exist, at least for one more day. The bell rang after what seemed like an eternity and Lynn realized the school day was over and almost sagged with relief.
She grabbed her backpack, slipped it onto her shoulders, and walked down and around to the buses. She walked onto her bus and sat in the first open seat that she saw. She sat down next to someone, but Lynn didn’t bother making conversation as she was too stressed to say anything.
She closed her eyes, barely paying attention to her surroundings as she started to daydream.
Ike glanced over as a girl sat down next to him. He could immediately tell she was tired so he didn’t say a word when she leaned on his shoulder without realizing it. He enjoyed the warmth that rolled off her. He ended up deciding to sit back and relax as he closed his eyes as well.
Lynn finally stopped daydreaming long enough to realize that she was at her stop. She also realized that she had been resting against someone’s shoulder. A boy’s shoulder. She hurried off the bus and went to go home. Lynn just to decided not to do anything the rest of the day. She got into bed and lay there for hours until her eyes finally closed and she drifted off to sleep
Lynn woke up the next morning, all refreshed and ready to go. She flung her long black hair over her shoulders and looked at the time on her clock. She hurried to get everything done, completing one task after another very quickly.
